Swifties, swifters y otros fans: aproximación a los Fandom studies a través del fanbase de Taylor Swift

Abstract

Taylor Swift ha sido capaz de crear un fanbase muy presente en las redes sociales. Sin embargo, con el cambio de dirección de su carrera al pasar de considerarse una artista 'country' a una artista 'pop', el discurso de autenticidad que, desde su figura se creó, se ha visto alterado por la significación de las distintas etiquetas y por la diferencia a la hora de representarse. Parto de la idea que este discurso es la base para la reformulación de los discursos dados y legitimizados por los fans. 'Swifties, swifters y otros fans: Aproximación a los Fandom Studies a través del fanbase de Taylor Swift' pretende hacer un repaso a la bibliografía general que existe sobre los estudios de fandom, utilizando los conceptos básicos y las herramientas para hacer una primera aproximación a los fenómenos y procesos que ha vivido el fanbase tras el lanzamiento del álbum 1989 (2014).

Tot i això, amb el canvi de direcció de la seva carrera al passar de considerar-se una artista 'country' a una artista 'pop', el discurs d'autenticitat que, es va crear des de la seva figura, s'ha vist alterat per la significació de les diferents etiquetes i per la diferència a l'hora de representar-se. Parteixo de la idea que aquest discurs és la base per a la reformulació dels discursos donats i legitimats pels fans. 'Swifties, swifters y otros fans: Aproximación a los Fandom Studies a través del fanbase de Taylor Swift' pretén fer un repàs a la bibliografia general que existeix sobre els estudis de fandom, utilitzant els conceptes bàsics i les eines per a fer una primera aproximació als fenòmens i processos que ha viscut el fanbase a partir del llançament de l'àlbum 1989 (2014).

Taylor Swift has been able to create a fanbase very present in the social networks. However, with the chage of direction from being considered a 'country' artist to a 'pop' artist, the discourse of authenticity that was created around her figure has been altered by the significance of the different labels and her new form of selfrepresentation. I understand that this discoourse of authenticity is the basis for the reformulation of the discourses given and legitimized by her fans. 'Swifties, swifters y otros fans: Aproximación a los Fandom Studies a través del fanbase de Taylor Swift' aims to review the existing literature on Fandom Studies and to use the basic concepts and tools to make a first approximation to the phenomena and the processes that the fanbase has experienced since the realease of the album 1989 (2014).
