Hindemith y la viola

Abstract

Paul Hindemith és un compositor poc entès entre els músics. Té fama de ser una persona introspectiva, o una mica estranya. Per altra banda, té grans obres que han adquirit molta fama, encara que n’hi ha moltes altres que no són gens conegudes. Però per què? Durant aquest treball analitzarem Hindemith i la seva relació amb la viola, repassant primer la seva vida i després abordant el repertori de viola, demostrant que Hindemith no és més que un geni, atrapat en el cos d’una persona.

Paul Hindemith es un compositor poco comprendido entre los músicos. Tiene fama de persona introspectiva o un poco extraña. Por otro lado, tiene grandes obras que han adquirido mucha fama, aunque hay otras muchas que no son nada conocidas. Pero, ¿por qué? Durante este trabajo analizaremos a Hindemith y su relación con la viola, repasando primero su vida y luego abordando el repertorio para viola, demostrando que Hindemith no es más que un genio, atrapado en el cuerpo de una persona.

Paul Hindemith is not well understood by musicians. He is known as an introspective or somewhat unusual person. On the other hand, he has great compositions that are quite famous, but there are others that are not so well known. But why? In this paper, we are going to analyze Hindemith and his relationship with the viola, studying first his life and then his works for viola, showing that Hindemith is just a genius trapped in a normal person’s body.
