Descripció d'un violoncel de qualitat en base al seu funcionament

Abstract

El propòsit d’aquest treball és intentar descriure quines característiques hauria de tenir un violoncel de qualitat, a partir d’un estudi del funcionament del seu mecanisme. Aquesta descripció s’ha fet d’acord amb bibliografia relacionada amb la història i l’organologia del violoncel, a més d’entrevistes a lutiers i a intèrprets que han aportat el seu coneixement empíric. S’ha observat que hi ha uns trets comuns que els instruments de qualitat solen tenir, tot i que es tracta d’un assumpte en el qual influeixen molt les necessitats i els gustos de l’intèrpret i del lutier.

El propósito de este trabajo es intentar describir qué características debería tener un violonchelo de calidad, partiendo del estudio del funcionamiento de su mecanismo. Esta descripción se ha hecho en base a bibliografía relacionada con la historia y la organología del violonchelo, además de entrevistas a luthiers e intérpretes que han aportado su conocimiento empírico. Se ha observado que hay unos rasgos comunes que los instrumentos de calidad suelen tener, aunque se trata de un asunto en el cual influyen mucho las necesidades y los gustos del intérprete y del luthier.

The purpose of this dissertation is to describe the characteristics that a high-quality cello should possess, based on a study of its mechanical functioning. This description draws on both the relevant literature on the history and organology of the cello and interviews with luthiers and performers who contributed their empirical knowledge. It has been observed that quality instruments tend to share certain common traits, although these are highly influenced by the individual preferences and needs of both the player and the maker.
